Grant Application - Cherokee County North Carolina

Mission Statement: Because of the successful marketing campaigns, the TDA creates to generate tourism in Cherokee County, it is our mission to act as a donor through this grant to work with local non-profit/s within the community to continue to increase the number of “heads in beds” and additional tourism, to increase awareness of the Cherokee County Tourism Development Authority and the positive economic drive tourism creates within our Community.

Stipulations of the CCTDA Tourism Grant

Budgeted Amount: $100,000.00
- This amount can be split to be awarded to several applicants for multiple projects OR one applicant, this is up to the board’s discretion.
Application Period: May 1, 2023-June 30, 2023
- All applications MUST be turned in within this deadline to be considered.
This grant is offered ONLY to organizations within Cherokee County, North Carolina
This grant is a partnership with a community organization; however, the project will be done in the Cherokee County Tourism Development Authority’s name with credit given to the applicant.
This grant is offered ONLY to Non-Profit Organizations.
- Non-Profit status must be registered and completed before applying for this grant.
This grant is to be used for a more permanent or “brick and mortar” type project verses a one-time festival or event.
- Project must benefit Cherokee County or a community within Cherokee County.
ALL funds must be used within a certain period of time.
- Applicants will be required to provide a detailed timeline of the project.
- The applicant will receive the payments in installments based on the timeline provided and the completion rate of the project.
If rewarded, applicants will be required to present monthly updates at each board meeting on the progress of the project.
